Athanasia Kanellopoulou studied with a scholarship at the 'Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance' in London. In 1999 she received the Scholarship of Artistic Excellence at the 'Martha Graham School' in New York.

She danced in Germany for eight years with various different contemporary companies such as the 'Tanztheater of Osnabruck', the 'Tanztheater of Hagen', the 'Blue Elephant In jung Jun'. In 2002, she was a guest dancer at the 'Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch'.

As a freelancer, she has worked with many different Israelian choreographers; Lior Lev, Jossi Berg, Rami Levi, Guy Weissman and Roni Haver. In 2006, she joined  the 'Jasmin Vardimon Company'. In 2008, she joined the dance collective 'Les Ballets C de la B' and since March 2010 she is dancing with the 'Cocoondance' in Bonn.

She has performed her own work in Greece and in the Festival of Pina Bausch in Dusseldorf. In March 2010, Athanasia performed her dance solo 'In never Loverland' for the 14th solo tanz international Festival in stuttgard.
